ROGER WHITE

CEO/PRESIDENT

Roger joined URM as President and CEO in 2025. A Pacific Northwest native, he brings more than 30 years of industry experience, most recently from Associated Food Stores in Salt Lake City, Utah. During his tenure there, he held leadership roles spanning advertising, marketing, merchandising, category management, private label development, retail support, procurement, warehousing, and transportation.

His career began in Boise, Idaho, at Albertsons where he laid the foundation for his extensive industry knowledge and operational expertise.

With a deep appreciation for what makes URM unique, Roger is committed to honoring the organization’s legacy while guiding its future growth. Drawing on his broad experience and strategic perspective, he is excited to partner with the URM team and its dedicated Member-Owners to build on a strong foundation and drive continued success.

 

CHAD FARRAR

CFO/TREASURER

Chad Farrar joined the URM Stores team as CFO/Secretary/Treasurer in April 2023. Chad has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, with a major in Accounting from the University of Idaho’s School of Business and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the State of Idaho.

Prior to joining URM Stores, Chad served as the VP of Finance and General Manager of a telecom technology company Raycap. Chad helped transform Raycap into the global leading provider of electrical power protection products during that time. Prior to that Chad worked in finance and management positions with Fortune 500 companies including Albertson’s and Washington Group International, as well as working in the mining and banking industries.

Chad is committed to helping URM grow and succeed by providing exceptional service, support, and value to URM's Member-Owners and customers.

 

Katy O’Connor

VP OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Katy first joined URM in 1999 as the company’s first Vice President of Human Resources. During her tenure, she introduced new technology, processes, and learning opportunities that helped modernize URM’s approach to employee development and support. In 2007, she was recruited to serve as Chief Human Resources Officer for St. Charles Health, a four-hospital integrated healthcare system in Bend, Oregon. In 2026, she returned to URM as VP of Human Resources.

Katy brings extensive experience in labor and employee relations, organizational development, change management, and strategic leadership. Throughout her career, she has focused on creating workplaces where employees feel supported, valued, and empowered to contribute to the organization’s success. 

 

MIKE MCSHANE

VP OF PROCUREMENT & PROFIT CENTERS

Mike McShane joined URM in 2018 as Vice President of Procurement, and in April of 2020, took on the challenge of three more divisions with his title of Vice President of Procurement & Profit Centers.  He has over 28 years of experience in the grocery business, both in wholesale and retail environments.  Mike has held such positions as Senior Manager of Supply Chain & Demand Planning, Director of Center Store Merchandising, Senior Manager of Center Store Procurement, Store Director, and Grocery Category Manager.  He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Hawaii in 1990. 

Mike looks forward to continuing URM's success by collaborating with our Member-Owners, supply partners, as well as the internal URM team, to drive sales and lower cost of goods for our Member-Owners and Profit Centers.

 

ROGER OLHAUSER

VP OF OPERATIONS

Roger brings over 30 years of experience and accomplishments as a manager and leader in the wholesale distribution business. His previous experience includes General Manager of Logistics for SUPERVALU Distribution Sites located in Bismarck, North Dakota, Minneapolis, MN, and Billings, MT. His most recent position was a General Manager position for Americold, managing a 3rd party Kroger Perishable facility, located in Denver Colorado.

Roger is excited to support URM’s overall vision of providing best-in-class service levels and continuing to drive efficiencies, which will assist our Member-Owner customers to effectively compete in their markets and grow their businesses.

 

JON ROMAN

VP MEMBER SALES & MARKET DEVELOPMENT

Jon graduated from Eastern Washington University in 1991 with Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Management and began his career at URM in 1992 as a General Manager and Candy Specialist. He later transitioned to a role in Procurement, ultimately earning the position of Manager of Grocery and Frozen Procurement. Prior to his current role as Vice President, Jon served as Director of Retail Sales and Services. Jon has played a significant role in URM’s expansion on the westside of Washington state and understands the challenges that Independent Grocers face.  

Jon looks forward to helping URM continue to expand into new markets and continuing to help Member-Owners grow and succeed.

 

CHARLES R. VOJTAS

CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

Charles brings more than 20 years of experience helping retail and distribution companies grow, modernize, and operate more efficiently. Charles' career is a testament making technology work better for store teams, warehouses, and customers, while keeping systems reliable, costs under control, and day-to-day operations running smoothly. Charles served as Chief Technology Officer for Cavender’s, guiding the company through a period of rapid growth. His work supported improvements in Merchandising and Warehouse Management systems optimization, customer loyalty, Store POS, customer in store digital experience, eCommerce modernization, as well as strategic business and technology planning.

Charles has held leadership roles with Academy Sports & Outdoors, Burlington Stores, JCPenney, and Footlocker.com. In these roles, he partnered closely with operations, merchandising, finance, and supply chain teams to improve systems that support stores, pricing, payments, inventory, and distribution across hundreds of locations.

 

Byron Pavao

VP OF STORE DEVELOPMENT

Byron has been with URM for 35 years, beginning his career in 1991 as a Draftsman. He later progressed into the role of Store Designer before becoming Director of Store Planning and Equipment, supporting URM’s retailers through store planning, equipment solutions, remodels, new store development, and long-term growth projects. 

Byron’s goal is to help member-owners with strategic planning for business development, business succession planning and continuing to provide members with the support they need to grow their business.
