REQUIREMENTS

Job Title:  TRUCK DRIVER

Will be evaluated in 30, 60, 90, 120 days and 1 year

1.        Drives a truck with the capacity of more than three tons.

2.       Drives diesel-powered tractor-trailer combination, to transport and deliver products.

3.       Drives truck to destination, applying knowledge of maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations, such as narrow passageways.

4.       Understand traffic laws.

5.       Unload trucks, using hands, arms, legs and back to lift, carry and pull heavy products.

6.       Drive tractor with two trailers hitched in tandem

7.       Keep truck logs according to regulations.

8.        Heavy Lifting and carry up to 100# max. with frequent 50#.

9.        Grasping, pushing / pulling and fine manipulating with left and right hands.

10.     Use of both feet for repetitive movements in operating foot controls.

11.     Frequently bend, squat and reach above head-occasionally climb.

12.     Restriction of activities involving:

a)       Moderate unprotected heights, exposure to changes in temperature and humidity and working around machinery.

b)       Mild exposure to dust, fumes and gases.

c)       Driving mechanical and over-the-road equipment

13.     Comply at all times with URM’s safety regulations.

Starting Salary: 

$17.60/hr

Education/Experience Required:

High School Graduate or GED

Recent Driving Experience

1 year Tractor Trailer Driving Experience

Food Service and or Route Delivery Experience a plus

Skills Required:

Work well without supervision

Able to read and follow instructions

Good verbal communication

License or Certificate Required: 

Valid Class A driver’s license

Doubles Endorsement

Current DOT medical card

Clean driving record

Physical and Mental Abilities:

Heavy Lifting: Requires lifting 100# max with frequent 50#

Personal and Professional Attributes:

Represent URM in a positive and professional manner at all times. 

Work well under pressure while meeting schedules in a designated time frame.
